Fettler / Assembly Operative (MAJORLABOURER) Nottingham, England

Major Recruitment are looking to hire a
Fettling/Assembly Operative
to join our client, a leading client based in Nottingham!

Key Responsibilities:
  • Fettle, grind, linish and finish laser cut and fabricated components.
  • Remove weld spatter, sharp edges and imperfections to achieve a high-quality finish.
  • Assemble fabricated components using hand and power tools.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Carry out visual quality inspections throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Report any defects or quality concerns to the Team Leader.
  • Ensure components are completed within production deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised working area.
  • Follow all company Health & Safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
  • Assist other departments when required to support production.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Previous experience in fettling or assembly preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
  • Ability to use hand tools effectively, particularly grinders for fettling work.
  • Overhead Crane experience (not required but advantageous)
  • FLT counterbalance licence (not required but advantageous)
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions accurately.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move parts as required.
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
Working Hours and Pay:
  • Monday to Friday
  • x2 06:00-14:00 / x2 14:00-22:00
  • 8 Hour Shift 40 hours per week
  • Overtime paid at time and half over 40 hours
  • 10 min and 30 min break PAID
