Assembly Fitter

* Various shift patterns available across either days, afternoons or nights.

* Would suit a proven Fitter or Technician with prior aerospace experience.

The role of an Assembly Fitter is critical to the success of the production team, the role is to be multi-skilled and cover a variety of skill sets. It is an opportunity to develop and learn new skills within the finishing department primarily.

Salary: £15.36 to £15.88 per hour. Additional shift premium if applicable to your pattern (standard days is just base rate). Additional overtime available too.

The Assembly Fitter job would suit:

* Relevant NVQ qualifications relevant to mechanical fitting and assembly.

* Competent in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.

* Previous experience within an assembly position for the aerospace sector.

* Practical experience of at least one of the following disciplines sheet metalwork, machining, fitting and assembly, welding and metal treatments.

The Assembly Fitter job will involve:

Bench work Assembly, Tasks to include;

* Riveting

* Drilling, countersinking, filing

* Press fitting – Operating Hydraulic and fly presses

* Broad assembly using a range of fasteners

* Operating a variety of bench top tools

* Operating pneumatic tools

* Applying surface treatments including paints, alocrom etc.

* Semi-skilled sheet metal ability; e.g. defect removal

* Setting products in jigs and fixtures
