This is a key role for someone who understands the demands of a busy food manufacturing environment, takes pride in maintaining high standards and is confident leading people and driving improvements.
The Role You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the Hygiene function, ensuring the site consistently meets food safety, hygiene, legal, customer and BRCGS requirements. You’ll lead the Hygiene team, manage cleaning and sanitation standards, monitor performance and work closely with Technical, Production, Engineering and Projects to keep standards high across the site. What You’ll Be Doing Leading and developing a large Hygiene team Managing site-wide cleaning, sanitation and deep-cleaning programmes Ensuring hygiene standards meet BRCGS, HACCP, legal and customer requirements Managing Hygiene KPIs, audits, corrective actions and improvement plans Investigating hygiene and contamination issues and driving root-cause analysis Managing Hygiene budgets, labour, chemicals, equipment and associated costs Supporting site projects, new equipment installations and hygienic design Working closely with Technical, Production, Engineering and Projects teams Developing standards, processes and training across the Hygiene function Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency without compromising food safety What We’re Looking For Proven experience as a Hygiene Manager within food manufacturing Experience in a high-care or ready-to-eat environment Strong experience leading and developing Hygiene teams Good knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP, food safety and hygiene standards Experience managing budgets, KPIs and operational performance Strong understanding of cleaning, sanitation and hygienic design Confident people leader with strong coaching and communication skills Good problem-solving and continuous improvement experience Comfortable working with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams HACCP Level 3 essential Hygienic design qualification, formal training or equivalent experience What’s On Offer £50,000–£55,000 salary Monday to Friday working pattern Brand-new facilities On-site parking and EV charging Subsidised staff restaurant Staff events Earned wage access This is a great opportunity to lead a large team within an established food manufacturing environment If you’re an experienced Hygiene Manager looking for a senior site-based opportunity where you can make a genuine impact across hygiene, food safety and team performance, we’d be interested in hearing from you.
