About The Role

The Brighton Marathon on Sunday, April 12, 2026 offers a stunning coastal backdrop, taking runners past the best the city has to offer. Your cheers and support on their journey really makes the world of difference - we couldn’t do it without you!

As a Cheer Point Volunteer, you’ll be the lively, supportive presence of Alzheimer’s Society along the race route, encouraging and motivating participants as they push towards the finish line.

This is a fantastic opportunity to show runners how much we appreciate their dedication to supporting Alzheimer’s Society, whilst helping to create a memorable, uplifting atmosphere for all runners!

• Using provided cheer materials to make as much noise as possible and cheer on our runners.
• Be part of the team creating a high-energy and encouraging environment for participants.

• Are friendly, energetic and enjoy being part of a large event.
• Want to gain experience in events or use your existing skills to benefit a great cause.

• Regular contact with the event team in the weeks before the event.
• An on the day contact who will greet you and support you.
• A volunteer t-shirt.
• Snacks and drinks while you volunteer.

This support is so incredibly important in helping Alzheimer’s Society carry out its mission to provide Help and Hope for those living with dementia.
