About the Church

St Luke’s Gamston & Bridgford is a lively, Spirit‑filled Church of England parish serving West Bridgford and Gamston through two complementary worshipping communities. God has blessed us with faithful people, committed lay leadership, a gifted staff team, healthy finances and a growing heart for children, young people and families. We believe He has laid strong foundations and are now calling us into a season of renewed vision, fresh growth and deeper discipleship.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Vicar who will discern God’s leading and build strategically on the foundations already in place. The role involves equipping the church to become a growing, younger, and more confident community, raising up leaders, deepening discipleship, and sharing the hope of Jesus with increasing confidence across our communities. The Vicar will lead both worshipping communities toward a shared vision, fostering each to flourish in its distinctive way while promoting collaboration among staff, lay leaders and volunteers.

Qualifications
  • A person of prayer who models dependence on God and inspires others to deepen their walk with Jesus.
  • Articulates a clear and compelling vision, delivering strategic leadership that builds confidently on strong foundations.
  • An outward‑facing leader who inspires courageous discipleship and mission, helping us share the hope of Jesus with increasing confidence.
  • Enjoys equipping, encouraging and releasing others into leadership, ministry and everyday mission rather than doing everything yourself.
  • Passionate about helping churches grow younger by reaching and discipling children, young people and families.
  • Enjoys leading two complementary worshipping communities toward one shared vision, helping each flourish in its own distinctive way.
Benefits

In return, you will find a warm, welcoming and expectant church family, a gifted staff team, committed lay leaders, faithful volunteers and a supportive PCC excited to work alongside you.
