Job Overview
The Acute Oncology Team provides early input of specialist care to oncology patients enabling safer and better quality care to patients with complications of treatments or new diagnosis. You would need to possess the skills and confidence to urgently review patients with complications of cancer and ensure appropriate pathways of care are put in place. The aim of the AOS team is to support patients and provide the help clinicians sometimes need in caring for people with a malignancy, including new diagnosis.
The role also provides specialist support to patients with Cancer of Unknown Primary through the pathway of care from diagnosis to end of life care.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Acute Oncology Service (AOS) at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust for a Band 7 Acute Oncology / Cancer of Unknown Primary Clinical Nurse Specialist
. We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and dynamic nurse to join our small, friendly and forward‑thinking team.
- Demonstrate specialist knowledge and experience relating to all aspects of oncological malignancy.
- Lead and manage a caseload of patients autonomously, prioritising workloads and using initiative.
- Assist in implementing and providing both formal and informal education programmes on the Acute Oncology Service to staff within the Trust.
- Experience in a senior nursing role.
- Educated to first degree level.
- Flexibility to work at both QMC and City sites Monday‑Friday and meet changing needs of the service.
