Nurse Practitioner

Nottingham City GP Alliance is seeking a skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our dynamic GP surgery teams across the Bilborough locality in Nottingham City. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care to patients across a range of conditions, working autonomously and collaboratively with GPs and the wider practice team.

• Undertake advanced clinical assessment.
• Independently diagnose, treat and manage patients.
• Provide same‑day and pre‑bookable appointments for minor illness, acute presentations and exacerbations of long‑term conditions.
• Prescribe safely and effectively as an Independent Nurse Prescriber.
• Request, interpret and act upon investigations.
• Recognise and appropriately elevate patients whose needs exceed NP scope to a GP or relevant specialist.
• Maintain accurate, contemporary and high‑quality clinical records using the practice clinical system.
• Act as a senior nursing clinician, role‑modeling best practice and professional standards.
• Work within clinical governance frameworks to support safe, effective and high‑quality care.
• Maintain professional registration and revalidation with the NMC.
• Engage in regular clinical supervision (peer review or with members of the medical team) and reflective practice.
• Communicate effectively with patients, carers and colleagues, including discussion of diagnoses, treatment options and self‑care.

• Practice in accordance with the NMC Code and professional standards.
• Work within agreed scope of practice and recognise personal limitations.
