Priory Hospital East Midlands has an opportunity for a Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our team. The role is full time, 37.5 hours per week, with an annual salary of £32,760. Located between Nottingham and Mansfield, the hospital offers a 28‑bed specialist acute and psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU) service for adult females.

• Deliver high‑quality, person‑centred nursing care to individuals with mental health needs, ensuring their safety, wellbeing and recovery remain the priority.
• Build therapeutic relationships with patients and work closely with their families and carers to develop and review personalised care plans.
• Carry out comprehensive patient assessments, monitor progress and respond promptly to any changes in mental or physical health.
• Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver coordinated, effective care and achieve positive outcomes for patients.

• Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with a valid NMC registration.
• Completed preceptorship programme with a commitment to maintaining professional registration and continuing professional development.
• Strong clinical assessment and decision‑making skills with the ability to deliver safe, high‑quality patient care.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with patients, families and colleagues.
• A flexible, compassionate approach with a commitment to delivering person‑centred care.
• Sound knowledge of safeguarding, medicines management and relevant mental health legislation, including the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act.

• At least 6 months' post‑registration experience within a mental health or learning disabilities setting.
• Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team in an inpatient environment.
• Confidence in developing, implementing and reviewing individualised care plans.
• Experience supporting patients with a range of complex mental health needs.
• Previous experience mentoring newly qualified staff or students.
• A proactive approach to quality improvement and continuous professional development.
