The Quality Assurance Coordinator would be responsible for ensuring consistency, accuracy, and compliance across Buried Services, EC and Utility Survey teams. This role acts as a critical link between operational delivery and quality standards (Onsite & Office), maintaining high levels of data integrity, reporting quality, and adherence to industry and company procedures. This is currently spread across multiple surveyors, consuming their capacity to progress more work.
Here’s what you’ll do:
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Review and audit deliverables from both Buried Services, EC and Utility Survey teams to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Ensure all outputs comply with relevant industry standards, company procedures, and client specifications.
- Identify trends, recurring errors, and areas for improvement, implementing corrective actions where necessary.
Process Standardisation
- Develop, maintain, and enforce QA processes and documentation standards across both teams.
- Promote consistency in data capture, processing, and reporting methodologies.
- Support the creation and updating of templates, checklists, and QA workflows.
- Actively look to streamline workflows, search for and implement cost saving measures whilst increasing quality.
Cross-Team Coordination
- Act as a central point of contact between Buried Services, EC and Utility Survey teams for quality-related matters.
- Facilitate communication to ensure alignment in deliverables and expectations.
- Provide guidance and clarification on QA standards and best practices.
- Maintain a regular schedule of site audits.
- Experience in quality assurance, ideally within utilities, surveying, or engineering environments.
- Strong understanding of buried services, utility surveys, or geospatial data (desirable).
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to interpret technical data, drawings, and reports.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in relevant software/tools used in utility mapping and reporting.
This role requires close collaboration with both field and office-based teams in the UK and abroad and may involve periodic reviews of live projects to ensure adherence to QA standards. In person training opportunities may arise, where it is expected 121 (face to face) training sessions are held by the appointed Quality Assurance lead. The employee shall be required to undertake such travel as may reasonably be necessary for the proper execution of their duties.
