At GCL Food Ingredients, quality is at the heart of everything we do. We’re looking for an enthusiastic Quality Assurance Technician to join our Technical team and play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of food safety, legality and quality across our manufacturing site.

Working Hours:

37.5 hours per week:

Between 06.30am – 16.30pm (although this may vary with demands of the role)

Working Days:
Monday – Friday

Salary - £26,500 per year

As a Quality Assurance Technician, you’ll work closely with both the Technical and Production teams to ensure our products consistently meet the highest standards of food safety, quality and customer expectations.

You’ll play an important role in maintaining our BRC accreditation, supporting customer audits and driving continuous improvement across the site.

Main Duties will involve but not limited to:

• Working alongside Production to identify quality issues and implement effective corrective actions.
• Carrying out scheduled factory inspections, including:
• Supporting BRCGS and customer audits while helping maintain an “audit ready” culture every day.
• Investigating customer complaints using root cause analysis and recommending preventative actions.
• Collecting microbiological, environmental and nutritional samples according to the sampling schedule.
• Completing CCP verification, allergen validation and species verification activities.
• Checking labels, packaging and product specifications to ensure compliance.
• Preparing Certificates of Analysis (CoA) and Certificates of Conformance (CoC) when required.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across departments to continually improve standards.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work confidently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Previous Quality Assurance experience within food manufacturing.
• Understanding of food production processes.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and quality management systems.
• Experience supporting audits and quality inspections.

• Level 2 Food Safety
• Basic HACCP
• Previous food manufacturing experience
