Position: Research Assistant (TEA Study) (Fixed term, Part time)

About The Role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Research Assistant to join the Techniques to Enable Safe and Dignified Drinking in Adults with Dysphagia (TEA) Study, an NIHR HTA‑funded research project. The TEA Study aims to identify the most promising interventions to support safe and dignified drinking for adults with swallowing difficulties (dysphagia), informing a future clinical trial to test effectiveness. The programme includes a national survey, qualitative research, a literature review and a consensus project.

Working closely with Dr Jacqui Benfield and the wider research team, you will support a range of research activities including literature searches, questionnaire development, survey administration, data collection and analysis, and the preparation of reports and publications. You will contribute to the delivery of a high‑profile research programme with the opportunity to develop your research skills and experience in rehabilitation and dysphagia research.

The Team

You will join the Centre for Rehabilitation and Ageing Research within the School of Medicine and become part of a supportive multidisciplinary team with expertise in rehabilitation and dysphagia research. Qualifications
  • A degree in a relevant subject area such as healthcare, psychology, rehabilitation or medicine.
  • Knowledge of research methodologies.
  • Evidence of developing research skills through contributing to or undertaking research activities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively and build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

Employment Details

This is a fixed‑term, part‑time post working 21.75 hours per week, available until 30 June 2028. Applicants must possess satisfactory enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
