Representative – Wastewater Treatment (Municipal) Region:
Midlands | Remote with regional travel About the role

We are seeking an experienced Sales Representative to grow our Municipal Wastewater Treatment business across the Midlands. This is a key commercial role focused on identifying, developing, and closing both capital and operational opportunities within wastewater treatment works.

You will represent a broad portfolio of industry‑leading wastewater treatment solutions, working closely with municipalities, consultants, contractors, OEMs and internal technical teams to deliver sustainable, high‑value outcomes for customers.

Key responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a robust sales strategy to generate new business across the municipal wastewater treatment market in the Midlands
  • Identify, qualify and progress opportunities from lead generation through to contract award
  • Build strong, professional relationships with key customer stakeholders including Operations, Engineering, Procurement and Finance
  • Represent the full wastewater treatment portfolio, aligning customer needs with the most effective technical and commercial solutions
  • Lead complex negotiations using a win‑win approach in line with business governance
  • Own sales forecasting and pipeline management, reporting against monthly, quarterly and annual targets
  • Coordinate closely with internal teams including Applications Engineering, Proposals, Service and Aftermarket to deliver best‑in‑class solutions
  • Determine and recommend the most appropriate route to market (direct, contractor, OEM or distributor) for each opportunity
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction throughout the full sales and delivery lifecycle
About you

You will be a motivated sales professional with proven experience in the municipal wastewater sector, comfortable operating at both technical and commercial levels.

Essential experience & skills:
  • Several years’ experience in a sales or business development role, ideally within wastewater treatment or a related engineering environment
  • Strong knowledge of wastewater technologies, materials and municipal procurement processes
  • Track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets
  • Excellent relationship management, communication and negotiation skills
  • Customer‑focused mindset with strong problem‑solving ability
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Desirable:
  • Engineering qualification (HNC/HND or degree preferred)
  • Experience using CRM systems (e.g. Dynamics 365, Salesforce)
  • Knowledge of specifications and contract documentation
  • Hands‑on experience with wastewater treatment equipment
