Location:

Nottingham

About the role

Are you an experienced Account Manager from a technical background looking to work for a leading provider of M&E products and services to the commercial construction sector? In this independent role you will deliver major new business from principal contractors and sub‑contractors, both from existing customers and new opportunities.

The Account Manager will create long‑term, trusting relationships with customers, oversee a portfolio of assigned accounts, develop new business from existing clients and actively seek new sales opportunities.

Account management responsibilities include developing strong relationships with customers, connecting with key business executives and stakeholders, preparing sales reports, liaising with external business development and internal teams (Commercial, Marketing, Product Development) to improve the entire customer experience. Occasional travel may be required.

Key responsibilities
  • Maintenance and growth of allocated accounts
  • Serve as the lead point of contact for all customer account management matters
  • Build and maintain strong, long‑lasting client relationships
  • Negotiate and close agreements to maximise profits
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with key accounts through GAP analysis
  • Clearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop new business with existing clients and/or identify areas of improvement to meet sales quotas
  • Forecast and track key account metrics
  • Assist with challenging client requests or issue escalations as needed
  • Devise a strategy for each individual customer with a clear plan of action for the quarter ahead
Qualifications

Proven experience within an Account Management role in an engineering, construction or technical business.
