AboutThe Role
As the Merchandiser
- Sales, you will be responsible for managing smooth delivery of orders through effective critical path and account management. The role supports the commercial success of each account by combining operational oversight with sales analysis and planning. Strong communication, organisation, and commercial awareness are essential to support the Sales Managers and wider business in achieving sales and service objectives.
- Customer Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts, building strong relationships with Buying teams, Merchandisers, and Logistics teams to ensure consistent communication and service excellence.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead internal critical path meetings to align all departments (including design, production, and factory merch) on order status, priorities, and potential challenges. Prepare for the CP meetings, including customer updates that need to be shared with the teams. Ensure any changes or updates are communicated promptly to the Sales Managers and the customer.
- Order Book Management: Oversee the order process from initial confirmation through to delivery. Ensure all orders are accurately entered, tracked, and progressed in line with agreed terms and timelines. Work closely with internal teams to resolve issues efficiently.
- Commercial Support: Support Sales Managers with commercial planning, including sales forecasting and range analysis. Raise contracts on Sage, manage customer PO conversions, and document progression of each contract via the Critical Path process to ensure handover dates are met.
- Weekly Operational Tasks: Attend weekly CP sessions, order labels (RFID, holograms, etc.), receive and check packing lists and invoices, hand over documents to Finance, and maintain accurate data input to Sage.
- Meeting Preparation and Follow-Up: Own pre-meeting preparation, compile reports and presentation materials, attend customer and internal meetings as required, and ensure all actions and outcomes are recorded, communicated, and followed up.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve internal processes, enhance communication flow, and strengthen relationships across departments to optimise overall account performance.
