Security Officer

Location:

Nottingham City Centre.

Hours:

2pm to 10pm, Monday to Friday.

• Protect the customer's property, people and/or assets by providing security services in accordance with the published Assignment Instructions (AI's) and any subsequent changes.
• Deliver results that meet or exceed the Key Performance Indicators / Service Level Agreement for the customer, ensuring accountability and contributing to contract retention.
• Undertake additional training to ensure continuous self‑development.

• Ensure compliance with all policies, and relevant legal and regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager and in accordance with UK law.
• Fully and satisfactorily complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within the Assignment Instructions (AI's).
• Review and be proactive in supporting any changes to the Assignment Instructions, suggesting amendments that improve or enhance service levels.
• Maintain all required licences (e.g., Security Guarding or Door Supervision licence, CCTV PSS SIA Licence) and wear them at all times whilst carrying out duties.
• Comply with legal obligations and safety requirements of the role.
• Follow instructions and procedures appropriately, avoiding unnecessary challenge to authority.
• Work in a systematic, methodological and orderly manner.

• Complete all required competency training satisfactorily.
• Undertake additional training for continuous self‑development as directed by the Security Account Manager.
• Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge through continual professional development.
• Renew licence 16 weeks before expiry.

• Identify and immediately report any health and safety hazards or potential hazards on site.
• Remain alert to any threats or changes within the work environment and take appropriate action to reduce the risk of disruption, loss or damage.
• Use common sense and initiative to involve others if a situation appears threatening.
• Maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
• Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry promptly after any incident for the Incident Report process.
• Adhere to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the client.
• Ensure check calls are performed at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions (AI's).
• Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.

• Previous security experience required.
• Valid SIA licence.
• SC clearance desirable.
