Overview

We are looking for a dedicated, compassionate and experienced individual to join the Homes for Ukraine Team as a Delivery Officer with a focus on housing support. The Homes for Ukraine scheme was launched in March 2022 and supports individuals fleeing the war in Ukraine to come to the UK. Nottinghamshire County Council continues to receive arrivals who may live with a host for 6 months or longer.

The Council has been given key responsibilities by the Government in managing the scheme, including essential checks on host and accommodation suitability, payments to hosts, school places, housing support when relationships breakdown, service referral/signposting, support with work, benefits and community integration.

Responsibilities
  • Managing a caseload of ‘active’ guests in need of housing support.
  • Conducting means assessments of guests’ affordability for private rent.
  • Supporting guests to make applications for the Social Housing register.
  • Conducting searches for private rented properties and matching these to appropriate guest households.
  • Building relationships with landlords and letting agents across the County.
  • Working closely with District and Borough Councils to assess homeless risk and access funding.
  • Attending guest or host properties to offer casework support and discuss move‑on options.
  • Providing tenancy sustainment support to guests in existing private rented arrangements.

The role will primarily focus on housing and providing 1–1 casework to guests who need move‑on accommodation from their hosting arrangements.

Working Conditions

While the role is hybrid, it will involve travel across the County and in-person work with guests and hosts. A driver’s licence is essential.

Location & Team

The role sits within the Homes for Ukraine Team, part of the Communities and Public Health Division.
