Pay Rate: 35 per hour
Job Overview
Nottingham City Council is seeking an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join its Children in Care (CIC) Team. This is an excellent opportunity to work with looked-after children and young people, supporting them to achieve stability, permanence, and positive outcomes.
The successful candidate will be passionate about high-quality care planning and committed to delivering child-centred, statutory social work within a supportive local authority environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of children and young people in care
Undertake statutory visits and maintain regular contact with children and carers
Complete high-quality care plans, assessments, and reviews
Ensure compliance with statutory duties and timescales
Safeguard children and young people and promote their welfare
Work collaboratively with foster carers, families, and multi-agency partners
Contribute to permanence planning and long-term outcomes
Maintain accurate and timely case recording
Essential Requirements
Recognised Social Work qualification (Degree or equivalent)
Registration with Social Work England
Proven experience working with Children in Care / Looked After Children
Strong safeguarding and care planning experience
Ability to manage complex caseloads effectively
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Resilient, empathetic, and child-focused approach

Essential Requirements:
Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
Social Work England Registration
Driving license and access to own vehicle
