Position: CAMHS Social Worker - Children in Care MDT (Hybrid)

Do you want to make a lasting difference for children in care?

We are seeking experienced and passionate Social Workers to join our Children in Care CAMHS Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT). This is an exciting opportunity to work within a specialist service comprising Nottingham City Council and Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust staff supporting children and young people in care who present with complex emotional, behavioural, developmental, and mental health needs.

As part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, including a Psychiatrist and Clinical Psychologist, you will play a key role in providing consultation, assessment, and therapeutic interventions to children, carers, and their wider professional network.

About the Role

You will work closely with children and young people in care, foster carers, residential staff, social care teams, schools, and partner agencies to strengthen understanding of trauma, attachment, neurodevelopmental needs, and relational approaches.

A typical day could include direct clinical and therapeutic work, undertaking assessments, together with consultation and network support to promote placement stability and emotional wellbeing, always contributing to positive outcomes for children and young people.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Be a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
  • Substantial experience working with children in care and/or CAMHS settings
  • Good understanding of trauma, attachment, developmental trauma, and systemic practice
  • Experience of working collaboratively within multi‑agency and multi‑disciplinary environments
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with children and young people
  • A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.
