Are you passionate about supporting families? We are looking for a Family Support Worker to join our Kinship Support Service. You will be working alongside social workers, other family workers and welfare rights officers, who are supporting kinship carers and children. This role however will take a birth parent focus and rely on creative thinking and providing emotional and practical support to help families cope with the complex feelings and challenges associated within kinship arrangements.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting Birth Parents:
Help them understand the circumstances that led to their child living outside their care. - Facilitating Family Time:
Assist in arranging and supporting family time to strengthen relationships. - Advocating for Families:
Be the voice for birth parents, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed. - Delivering Structured Interventions:
Provide tailored support and guidance to families, focusing on their unique needs. - Maintaining Accurate Records:
Keep timely and precise records of your work and interactions with families.
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- Educational Background:
At least 5 GCSEs at grades A*-C, including English, or equivalent. - Experience:
Relevant experience working with children and families, either paid or voluntary. - Driving License: A full driving license is essential unless you are registered disabled.
