Role Overview
Foster Wales Flintshire is seeking a Specialist Foster Carer based within 20 miles of Haslingden and Rossendale, Lancashire. The role provides a full‑time home for young people leaving residential or high‑support care settings, enabling them to remain in their schools and community networks.
Key Responsibilities- Provide a stable, full‑time home environment for children and young people in care.
- Support children to reach their educational and personal development goals.
- Work closely with the dedicated social worker and other support professionals to deliver therapeutic and trauma‑informed care.
- Attend peer support groups, well‑being sessions and development opportunities.
- Maintain a safe and nurturing home, ensuring all health and safety standards are met.
- 21 years of age or older.
- Have a spare, dedicated bedroom in the home.
- Experience supporting children, young people or vulnerable adults – either professionally or personally.
- British citizen or hold Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) in the UK.
- Valid UK driving licence.
- Open to continuous learning and supportive therapeutic approaches.
- Current visa holders: EU Settled or Pre‑Settled, Graduate, Skilled Worker, Student, Health & Care Worker, Spouse, or any temporary visa are not eligible.
- £50,000 annual support package.
- Weekly fostering allowance (up to £258.79); approximate annual value £13,453.
- Additional allowances for birthdays, holidays and festive periods (up to £1,035 per year).
- Dedicated social worker support and regular check‑ins.
- Specialist training in therapeutic and trauma‑informed care.
- Access to peer support groups, wellbeing sessions and further development opportunities.
- Blue Light Card for national discounts.
