Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: 37 hours including evenings and weekends as required

Salary: Starting Salary is £46,142 (Level one) rising to £49,282 ( Level four) per annum (pro rata for part-time) (Pay award pending)

We are transforming our approach to delivering early help, we have taken on board learning from recent inspections and the national Care Review and are focused on embedding continuous improvement across our services.

About the Role

As Adolescence Supervisor you will support the planning, coordination and delivery of early help support services for vulnerable children, young people and families with a range of complex problems, including social, emotional and behavioural needs, and children subject to Child Protection, Child in Need, Youth Justice and TAF Plans. You will be responsible for the direct work and case supervision of Adolescence Family Help Workers and Adolescent Youth Development Workers to ensure high standards of practice in safeguarding, management of risk, and the use of effective interventions and parenting programmes to support children, young people and families.

You will lead the delivery of high‑quality services and provide reflective case supervision and expertise to colleagues to develop excellent evidence‑based practice. You will support and advise on the team’s case work and work innovatively and collaboratively with partner services to reduce the level of need and risk to enable them to be met within universal settings.

As part of Nottingham's developing youth offer, you will work across a range of services and community settings, helping to shape provision that responds to local need and supports young people to thrive.

This is an exciting leadership role at the heart of Nottingham City's developing youth offer, with responsibility for line managing and inspiring a team of approximately 12 staff, made up of around 6 Youth Work Apprentices and 6 Youth Development Workers.

You will play a key role in building a confident, skilled and ambitious workforce, supporting apprentices to grow into the profession while enabling experienced Youth Development Workers to deliver high‑quality, creative and impactful support for young people across the city.

Through strong supervision, coaching and day‑to‑day leadership, you will help shape a positive team culture where staff feel supported, challenged and motivated to make a real difference for children, young people and families in Nottingham.
