Client: Nottingham City Council
Location: Loxley House
Initial contract: 3 to 6 months, with potential extension.
Working Hours
: 37 hours a week - (9 am till 5pm)
PAYE Pay Rate:£16.90 per hour
Main Purpose of the RoleTo provide person-centered support to Children in Care and Care Leavers, helping young people transition successfully to independent adulthood. The role involves managing a caseload, developing Pathway Plans, providing practical and emotional support, and coordinating services to achieve positive outcomes.
Typical Day Overview- Meet and engage with young people through visits and appointments.
- Review and update Pathway Plans and assess progress.
- Support young people with housing, education, employment, benefits and independent living skills.
- Identify and respond to safeguarding or welfare concerns.
- Work with social care, housing, health, education and other partner agencies.
- Complete case records, assessments, reports and referrals.
- Advocate for young people and help them access appropriate services.
- Strong communication, relationship-building and advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage a caseload and work independently.
- Person-centred approach with a focus on empowering young people.
- Good understanding of safeguarding and risk assessment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple agencies.
- Strong organisation, record-keeping and time-management skills.
- Understanding of housing, education, employment, benefits and relevant support services.
- Commitment to Equality, Diversity & Inclusion and continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000 and Children Acts 1989/2004.
- Level 3 or above qualification in a relevant area such as Health, Social Care, Children & Young People, Education or Community Support OR relevant demonstrable experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals.
- Full UK driving licenseRQ
1770892 and access to a car insured for business use. - Ability to communicate effectively in spoken English.
- Willingness to work flexibly, including outside normal office hours when required.
- Willing to undertake a DBS check at the appropriate level.
