This is a full-time role (35 hours per week). However, we welcome applications from candidates seeking part-time hours or a job share arrangement.

About the role:

You’ll play a key part in The Another Way Programme, delivering intensive one-to-one mentoring and support to children, young people and young adults between the ages of 17 to 24 who are experiencing complex needs and contextual risks, including exploitation, youth violence and criminality. You’ll help young people build resilience, develop life skills, access education, employment and positive activities, and achieve safer, more positive outcomes.

We’re looking for a dedicated and skilled practitioner with the ability to build trusted relationships with young people, deliver tailored interventions, and work collaboratively with partner agencies to make a real impact in the lives of children and young people.

Key skills and experience:

The required skills and competencies for this role are:

• Experience supporting children, young people or young adults with complex needs, contextual risks or offending behaviours.
• Ability to build positive, trusting relationships and engage effectively with young people who may be difficult to reach.
• Strong communication, recording and partnership-working skills, with an understanding of safeguarding and risk management.

It would also be an advantage if you have any of the following skills and competencies:

• Knowledge of exploitation, youth violence, criminal justice or youth justice systems.
• Experience of delivering one-to-one and group interventions with young people.
• A relevant professional qualification or strong work-based knowledge in youth, social care or community support services.
