Are you a compassionate and organised individual? Nottinghamshire County Council is seeking a motivated Appointee Officer to join our Appointee and Deputyship Team. In this rewarding role, you will support adults who may struggle to manage their finances, ensuring they are safe from financial abuse and can access essential services. Your work will help individuals maintain their independence and improve their quality of life.

As an Appointee Officer, your key responsibilities will include:

• Managing Finances:
  Act on behalf of vulnerable adults by overseeing their finances, claiming benefits, and paying bills.
• Building Relationships:
  Collaborate with individuals, families, social workers, healthcare professionals, and external organisations to ensure access to financial support.
• Promoting Independence:
  Help individuals make informed choices that enhance their wellbeing and independence.
• Safeguarding:
  Ensure that individuals are protected from financial hardship and exploitation.
• Record Keeping:
  Maintain accurate records and produce reports to track progress and outcomes.

The following skills and experience are beneficial:

• A relevant qualification in health or social care (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
• Experience supporting vulnerable people within a care, health, social care, financial, or customer-focused environment, or experience managing finances on behalf of others.
• Knowledge of community care services and relevant legislation, including the Care Act 2014.
• Proficiency in using IT applications for record-keeping and reporting.
