Experienced in managing and supervising social workers within a busy Children’s Locality service, providing strong practice leadership and professional oversight.
Strong knowledge of Children Act 1989, safeguarding, Child in Need and Child Protection procedures.
Experienced in overseeing assessments, care planning, statutory visits and complex casework, ensuring children’s needs and safety remain central.
Confident managing high-risk and complex safeguarding cases, providing clear direction on risk management and decision-making.
Skilled in reflective supervision, performance management and staff development, supporting practitioners to achieve high standards of practice.
Experienced in quality assurance, case auditing and reviewing practice, ensuring statutory timescales and local authority procedures are met.
Strong knowledge of thresholds, permanence planning and escalation, ensuring children receive the appropriate level of intervention and support.
Experienced in working with families and multi-agency professionals, including education, health, police and other partner agencies.
Able to provide effective practice guidance and decision-making in relation to complex assessments, safeguarding concerns and legal proceedings.
Strong focus on improving outcomes for children, promoting strengths-based, child-centred and evidence-based social work practice.
