Lead Quality Engineer

As a Lead Quality Engineer at Atomic you will take responsibility across multiple client projects, designing and driving quality engineering strategy, test automation, release confidence and continuous improvement for product teams. You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders, and champion Quality Engineering practices across the software development lifecycle.

• Hybrid/ Remote with minimum one office day per month in Nottingham

• Own the quality strategy for client projects and lead cross‑functional quality discussions.
• Design, implement, and maintain test automation solutions and CI/CD pipelines.
• Advise on and drive the adoption of modern quality tooling, observability, and cloud‑based testing environments.
• Provide mentorship and coaching to junior quality engineers.
• Communicate quality status, risks, and improvement plans to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Encourage a culture of quality across the organization and actively contribute to the evolution of Atomic's quality engineering landscape.

• Extensive experience in modern software testing, quality engineering and test automation.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, and modern development environments.
• Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.
• Preference for candidates with consultancy or B2B client‑facing experience.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of navigating both technical and business contexts.
