Senior QA Engineer
MHR is offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior QA Engineer to join one of our innovative software delivery teams. This is a fantastic time to join, as we have ambitious plans to grow our market‑leading HR and Payroll SaaS solution and are revising our quality and test automation strategy to match.
Your TeamIt’s a great opportunity to help shape software quality and test automation for a large engineering department, and see your own skills and experience develop rapidly. Our teams operate using Agile development practices, we promote collaboration, continuous improvement and self‑development. We also have an established, supportive, and welcoming QA community.
Your Impact- Collaborate with and help your Scrum team to: accurately estimate, plan and manage Sprints.
- Identify and mitigate risks to software quality.
- Define, measure and maintain software quality of the features being delivered.
- Prevent flaws being introduced to the application.
- Provide fast and accurate feedback to software engineers when bugs are detected.
- Maintain automation test frameworks, adding new tests following MHR standards; contribute improvements to existing tests, the framework, or test process or standards.
- Build deep business domain and technical knowledge of our application.
- Mentor less experienced QAs in test automation.
- Experience using an object‑oriented software language.
- Experience using version control tools, branching strategies and following coding standards.
- At least 2 years’ experience writing test automation code for UI and/or API.
- Analytical test design for functionality, performance, usability, reliability, compatibility, both automated and manual execution.
- Driving quality in an Agile environment through team collaboration (e.g., 3‑Amigos, Example Mapping).
- Software engineering experience (e.g., contributing to feature development in a fungible agile team).
- Designing and/or implementing API test frameworks running pre‑deployment / on pipeline agents.
- Playwright with Type Script / JavaScript (our current UI framework).
- ‘Driven Design’ practices (e.g., TDD / BDD / DDD).
- Java, C# , .NET & Type Script or their derivatives.
- Azure cloud platform, Dev Ops, Application Insights.
- Angular.
- REST APIs.
- Relational Databases.
- Event‑driven architecture.
- HR and/or Payroll and/or Business Accounting legislation.
