Fleet Compliance Manager – Full Time (Permanent)

Location:

Gotham | Salary: up to £40,000 (dependent on experience) | Holiday: 25 days + bank holidays. Additional benefits include high street discounts and a cycle to work scheme.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Ensure full compliance of a large commercial vehicle and trailer fleet in line with legal, safety and company standards.
  • Lead and develop a two‑person Maintenance Control Centre team to support daily fleet decision‑making.
  • Monitor and reduce Vehicle Off‑Road (VOR) levels to maximise fleet availability.
  • Control and optimise maintenance costs without compromising safety or compliance.
  • Work closely with internal teams (operations, finance, senior leadership) and external partners (maintenance providers, regulators, suppliers).
  • Ensure all inspections, servicing and defect rectification meet commercial vehicle maintenance requirements.
  • Oversee compliance with drivers' hours regulations, including monitoring, reporting and corrective actions.
  • Manage accurate use of fleet systems, particularly Axscend, for compliance and maintenance tracking.
  • Support audits and inspections, ensuring documentation and processes meet regulatory standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement across all fleet compliance processes.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
  • Proven experience in a fleet compliance or maintenance compliance role.
  • Strong understanding of commercial vehicle maintenance regimes.
  • Solid knowledge of Drivers' Hours and DVSA Operator Licence regulations.
  • Current International CPC qualification.
  • Experience using Axscend or similar fleet compliance systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage costs, prioritise workload and make compliance‑focused decisions.
  • Experience leading or supervising a small team.
Desirable
  • Experience delivering VOR reduction initiatives.
  • Background working with large, multi‑site or high‑utilisation fleets.
  • Additional transport or fleet compliance qualifications.
