HGV Driver

An exciting opportunity has arisen within one of JRL Group's key divisions;
Trent Precast Concrete Ltd.

The JRL Group is a highly successful, privately owned, national construction group head quartered in North London. With a turnover in excess of £360m, the business is currently experiencing growth and as such seeks to strengthen our Precast team.

Trent Precast specializes in the manufacture and delivery of structural precast concrete units based in the heart of the country in Nottingham.

• Driving company vehicles to deliver loads to sites across the country
• Preparing the vehicle by conducting operator checks and maintenance
• Planning delivery schedules and routes with the Transport Manager
• Supervising or helping to load and unload goods
• Making sure loads are secured safely
• Following traffic reports and changing your route if necessary
• Routine maintenance such as topping up oil, tyre and brake checks before and after journeys
• Ensuring all rules on driver’s hours and working time directive are adhered to
• Excellent driving skills (assessment will need to be passed)
• The ability to work alone and concentrate for long periods
• Experience with heavy manufacturing/precast/steel
• A good understanding of driver’s hours regulations
• A polite and professional manner
• A good understanding of safety on the road and when loading and unloading
• The ability to complete record sheets and paperwork accurately
• A reasonable level of fitness
• Be trustworthy and reliable
• Be 18 years old or over
• Have previous HGV driving experience of at least 2 years
• Good safety practices and driving habits

• Minimum age: 18
• Previous HGV driving experience of at least 2 years
• Strong understanding of driver’s hours regulations and safety practices
• Ability to work alone and stay focused for extended periods
• Willingness to work night shifts
• Experience with heavy manufacturing/precast/steel is advantageous
