Role Description

This full-time, on-site Class 1 Lorry Driver role is based in Nottingham and involves the safe transport of access platforms and related equipment to and from customer locations. The driver will be responsible for planning routes, carrying out pre- and post-trip vehicle checks, and ensuring all loads are correctly secured and compliant with relevant regulations. Daily tasks include completing delivery and collection paperwork, liaising with the transport office and site contacts, and adapting to changing schedules or priorities.

The role also involves maintaining a clean, roadworthy vehicle, following all company safety procedures, and representing the business professionally when interacting with customers and colleagues.

Qualifications
  • Valid Class 1 (C+E) driving license, up-to-date Driver CPC, and a good understanding of UK road transport regulations.
  • Proven experience operating Class 1 vehicles, with strong skills in route planning, vehicle checks, and safe loading/unloading.
  • Commitment to health and safety best practices, including safe handling of equipment and adherence to company procedures.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with the transport team and site personnel.
  • Good time management, reliability, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Clean or low-point driving record; experience delivering access platforms or construction equipment is an advantage.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours when required and to undertake additional training or certifications relevant to the role.
