Branch Manager – Columbia Bank

Responsible for leading a team of associates in the delivery of breakthrough client service and establishing the branch as the bank of choice in the local community. Leads growth and maintains efficient operations and compliance with all operational guidelines.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage and coach associate performance and development while ensuring appropriate branch staffing levels.
  • Assume responsibility for branch P&L, achieving growth targets, managing the branch’s portfolio and expenses.
  • Achieve consistent satisfactory audit results through sound operational practices.
  • Partner with cross‑functional leaders within Retail and across the bank to provide meaningful client solutions in line with the Retail business strategy.
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of core products and Columbia’s Business/Consumer Financial Review process.
  • Develop and maintain strong, long‑term relationships with consumers, public figures, businesses and charitable organizations in the local community.
  • Embodied and lead the core values of the bank every day in interactions with associates, customers and shareholders.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s, Vocational, or Technical Degree in banking, business, or related field (or equivalent work experience) preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of previous banking experience, including consumer lending and exposure to business lending origination.
  • Minimum 2 years of management experience in banking or retail, including team leadership, coaching, daily supervision, labor law compliance, performance management, hiring and termination.
  • Extensive knowledge of banking products and services with demonstrated business acumen for solving consumer and small business banking challenges.
  • Proficiency in consumer lending and prior exposure to business lending.
  • Ability to manage deposit and loan portfolios including less complex consumer and business relationships.
  • Membership in local community organizations, demonstrating commitment to community leadership.
  • Proven training and mentoring skills with a desire to help others develop and grow.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi‑task effectively.
  • Demonstrated sales skills.
  • Ability to understand cash flow, financial statements and market risk.
  • Proficient use of spreadsheets and other banking computer systems, and ability to operate a variety of office equipment with repetitive tasks such as counting cash, typing and handling documents.
  • Critical thinking and anticipation of downstream impacts of decisions.
  • Compliance with all Federal, State and local consumer protection laws governing loan origination.
  • Position requires acting as a Bank MLO (Mortgage Loan Originator) for open‑end transactions (home equity lines of credit), and MLO registration is required.
  • Notary certification preferred (optional).
Compensation

Pay range: $71,000 – $90,000 per year. The selected candidate’s rate will be based on qualifications, experience and geographic location. Performance‑based incentive compensation may be available.

Primary Location

999 Grant Avenue, 1st Floor – Novato, CA 94945. Ability to work fully onsite at posted location(s).
