The Patient Care Coordinator pre-registers patients by verifying demographics and eligibility, obtaining authorizations as needed, creating estimates and collecting before DOS.

This position is full-time, 40 hours per week. Employees are required to work during our normal business hours of 9:00am - 5:30pm PST, Monday - Friday. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. Employees are required to work onsite during our normal business hours. Our office is located at 75 Rowland way, Novato, CA 94945.

We offer 4-6 weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of training will be aligned with your schedule.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Insurance verification, complete pre-authorizations and/or precertification of procedures, and copy required documents
  • Collects co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles and issues receipts
  • Answer telephone calls, re‑direct calls as appropriate, assist callers with questions or concerns, and take messages as needed
  • Manages medical records (maintains, files/scans, prepares for schedule)
  • Ensures all correspondence is scanned and/or filed, processes requests for medical records release and maintains appropriate logs, etc.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of experience in customer service or healthcare related
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work onsite at 75 Rowland way, Novato, CA 94945
  • Ability to work during our normal business hours of 9:00am - 5:30pm PST, Monday - Friday. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ years of experience with electronic health records
  • 1+ years of experience in related healthcare experience, including scheduling experience
  • 1+ years of experience handling and triaging telephone calls and a multi-system phone line
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
Soft Skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team, and maintain good judgment and accountability
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
