Whatyou’ll do
Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pickup truck and rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
- Lead tire testing and tuning activities
- Develop and execute test plans for tire characterization, including objective and subjective evaluations
- Perform tire evaluation on road and offroad in a variety of proving grounds and test sites
- Prepare detailed test reports with subjective evaluations, objectivations, and define next steps
- Analyze physical test data, including K&C results, and correlate with simulation models
- Collaborate with chassis, suspension, and vehicle dynamics teams to optimize tire performance and contribute to Ride & Handling
- Collaborate with tire suppliers, prepare and coordinate tuning sessions and track improvements in tire development. Define specifications and ensure alignment with vehicle performance targets
- Support virtual development through simulation and driving simulators
- Support other test activities in the team especially in reference to tires
- Develop advanced test methods for on-road and offroad tires and derive test standards accordingly
- This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Novi, Michigan
- The responsibilities of this role require attendance in office with in-person meetings and events regularly
- Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time

- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering
- 4+ years of experience in vehicle dynamics and tire development, preferably in OEM or Tier 1 environments
- Strong understanding of tire mechanics, tire evaluation criteria, suspension kinematics, and their impact on vehicle performance
- Experience with multibody simulation tools (e.g., ADAMS Car, Car Sim) especially in regards to tire models (F-Tire, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with vehicle testing on public roads, proving grounds and offroad test sites
- Familiarity with data acquisition systems and analysis tools
- High-performance driving skills and experience testing vehicles at the limit (certifications)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Passion for vehicle performance and innovation in mobility
- Advanced project steering and coordination skills to practice independent project management for a defined development scope
- Motivation to work at the cutting edge of electric vehicle technical design, creation of new ideas and solutions, and enjoyment of hands-on vehicle testing
- Ability to travel to perform tests as required
- Excellent communication and teamwork both internally and with external parties
- Valid driver’s license required
