Join the exciting work at Scout Motors Inc. as a Design Release Engineer for the Engine & Engine Hardware team. Scout, known for its trail‑blazing SUV legacy, is electrifying a classic brand to build the future of rugged electric vehicles.

• Lead system engineering for the Harvester gasoline engine underpinning the Scout Traveler SUV and Terra pickup.
• Coordinate component designs, builds, and testing to meet Scout and supplier milestones.
• Identify risks and elevate them to leadership to drive action.
• Track and report engine imperatives, including cost, mass, and investment.
• Coordinate engine hardware, software, and calibration from prototype to production.
• Provide technical feedback to concept architects, designers, test engineers, and calibration teams.
• Serve as the primary contact for engine-related partners and suppliers.

• This role will be based at Scout Motors’ facility in Novi, Michigan.
• Expect 4–5 days per week of in‑office attendance for meetings and events.
• Travel may be required to attend events and collaborate with external partners.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology (required).
• Strong powertrain fundamentals (required).
• 7+ years of experience managing complex, multidisciplinary engineering projects from concept to production (required).
• Experience with project/program management tools (required).
• Proven cross‑functional collaboration with purchasing, manufacturing, and other teams (required).
• Strong interpersonal skills—accountability, self‑motivation, analytical thinking, and concise communication (required).
• Experience with design release of powertrain components and systems (preferred).
• Experience with internal combustion engine controls and calibration (preferred).
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent (required for all roles).

This is a full‑time, exempt position eligible for a base salary and a preset annual performance bonus program. Initial base salary range: $130,000 – $160,000. Internal leveling code: IC8.
