Model-Based Design (MBD) Engineer – ADAMS NVH

Our client in Novi, MI is seeking a skilled Model-Based Design (MBD) Engineer with strong hands‑on experience in ADAMS NVH modeling and analysis. The ideal candidate will have expertise in ADAMS model builds for powertrain and ride quality applications, along with solid experience in model‑based software development using MATLAB/Simulink and related tools.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and refine ADAMS models for Powertrain (P/T) and EDU mount development, Generator set (Genset) mounting systems, and Ride quality simulation and analysis.
  • Perform model‑based software development using MATLAB/Simulink and automatic code generation.
  • Conduct plant modeling, software module design, and software testing.
  • Apply object‑oriented design and programming techniques using C, C++, Java, and MATLAB.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional and remote teams to deliver high‑quality, on‑time project deliverables.
  • Prepare and present technical findings, analysis results, and recommendations to management and stakeholders.
Required Experience and Skills
  • 2+ years of experience in model‑based design and product development.
  • Proficiency in ADAMS for NVH applications (mounting systems, ride quality).
  • Experience with one or more of the following software tools:
    • Control & Plant Modeling: MATLAB/Simulink, Modelica, Dymola, AMESim, Maple Sim, Simulation-X, Adams, GT‑Power
    • Measurement Tools: CANApe/CANalyzer (Vector), INCA (ETAS), or Control Desk/Automation Desk (dSPACE)
    • Auto Code Generation:
      Embedded Coder or Target Link (dSPACE)
    • Driving Simulators:
      Car Sim or Truck Sim
  • Strong foundation in mathematics (differential/integration/vector/matrix) and core engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, control, thermal, and fluid dynamics).
  • Basic understanding of automotive systems and vehicle dynamics.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and project coordination skills.
  • Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, and presentation development.
