Work activities will include design, technical calculation preparation, report writing, and construction support. Projects typically include large-scale earth moving and regrading, engineered cap and cover designs, environmental reclamation, road and culvert design, land development, and stream and wetland restoration.

Role is primarily office based with opportunity for project-related travel (site visits, meetings).

Analyze documentation including technical reports, maps, drawings, tests, and aerial photographs to understand geotechnical properties, terrain, hydrologic and hydraulic characteristics, and other data necessary to support civil design development. Review applicable regulations, permitting requirements, and standards. Based on interpretation of data and regulatory constraints, develop civil engineering designs of varying complexity.

Use 3D design software (e.g., Autodesk Civil 3D) to develop grading plans, perform drainage layouts, optimize earthwork designs, and perform quantity calculations. Oversee drawing production and provide construction support, including contractor assistance, technical submittal review, and real‑time design changes based on field conditions.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Hydrologic and hydraulic evaluations.
  • Preparation of technical reports and specifications.
  • Designing stormwater best management practices and erosion and sediment control plans.
  • Mentoring and delegating tasks to junior team members.

  • Engineer‑In‑Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern (EI) certification.
  • Proficiency with 3D civil site design using computer‑based modeling applications (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D).
  • Proficiency with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., Hydro

    CAD, HEC‑HMS, SWMM).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) License.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience.
  • Proficiency with hydraulic river modeling applications (e.g., HEC‑RAS).

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Employee Assistance Program.
  • 401(k) plan.
  • Short‑term and long‑term disability, AD&D, life insurance.
