What you’ll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

  • Responsible for the engineering of the skateboard-assembly. You will cover the skateboard assembly from virtual development, testing/sign-off and manufacturing launch for all Scout all-electric pick-up and rugged SUVs.
  • Responsible for the consistency of the CAD-Data and the Bill of Material of the skateboard.
  • Steering suppliers and engineering service providers.
  • Lead a cross functional team of production, quality, logistics and different engineering teams to enable the assembly of the SCOUT-skateboard-platform while fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Defining requirements for the assembly process and enforce them with the suppliers and within the SCOUT-organization
  • Ensure designs conform to safety standards and U.S. government regulations.
  • Proactively stay attuned to consumer experience and propose system improvements accordingly.
  • Manage resources efficiently including infrastructure, financial, supplier partners and people.
Location & Travel Expectations
  • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Novi, MI and later relocation in Blythewood, SC.
  • The responsibilities of this role require 4-5 days attendance in office with in-person meetings and events regularly.
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

  • Education/Certifications
    :
    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, systems engineering, engineering management or a relevant field
  • Years of Experience required in type of role: 5-8 years of experience in body mechanical areas and relevant automotive assignments.
  • Communication
    :
    Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Expertise in CATIA V5 and team center.
  • Strong technical skills and expertise in problem-solving
  • Ability to lead simultaneous engineering teams
  • Good knowledge of MS Office products
  • Familiarity with computer-aided engineering (CAE) or direct experience in this field.
  • The ability to build strong working relationships with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Minimum of High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required for all roles at Scout Motors, Inc.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
