We are looking for an experienced Lead Roadway Design Engineer to join our team in Michigan. In this role, you will oversee and manage roadway design projects from concept to completion, lead a team, collaborate with clients, and ensure on‑time, on‑budget, and compliant delivery.
Role Accountabilities- Serve as a professional engineer discipline lead, managing roadway design projects and ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
- Mentor and provide direction to junior staff and designers, develop project plans and schedules, manage production, and ensure project compliance with Arcadis quality and safety standards.
- Interact with client technical staff, either individually or as a team, presenting and managing client expectations.
- Perform various roles on multi‑disciplined projects including QA/QC review, technical advisor, design leader, and client‑facing project manager.
- Prepare written reports, calculations, and other design documentation.
- 7+ years of experience in roadway design and project management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineers License (PE).
- Experience with MDOT bid document preparation using ORD and other software.
- Extensive experience in preparing construction plans, technical reports, construction estimates, and project displays.
- Proficiency with Micro Station, Geo Pak, Open Roads, and Corridor Modeling.
- Experience with MDOT design standards, practices, and policies.
- Ability to manage and run meetings, and prepare written reports and meeting minutes.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Client‑facing experience, making presentations and managing client expectations.
- AutoCAD and Civil 3D skills.
- Active participation in regional or national professional associations.
- Bridge design experience.

SalarySalary range: $90,916 – $112,509 (actual salary will vary based on experience, education, and internal factors).
