Venteon is currently seeking an experienced Controller to fill an opening with a well-established company that is based in Novi, Michigan.

Requirements of the Controller

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance
• 3+ years of supervisory experience
• Fundamental knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting and internal controls
• CPA required
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities of the Controller

• Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and provide detailed analysis and commentary on financial results.
• Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other regulatory requirements.
• Lead the development and enhancement of month end summary decks, budget and forecast
• Maintain and enhance the company’s accounting systems and processes.
• Manage the monthly close process and ensure timely completion.
• Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
• Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
• Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory filings.
• Work closely with the Corporate Controller and other senior management to support strategic financial initiatives.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
