About the RoleThe Registered Dietitian is responsible for assessing, developing, and directing the overall nutrition plan of care for each guest. The role collaborates with and encourages guests and families to participate in the development of care plans. The Dietitian continually studies emerging trends, stays current on new research related to dietetics, and educates the culinary staff on human nutrition and culinary service.
Responsibilities- Assess, develop, and direct individualized nutrition care plans for residents.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team, residents, and families to ensure care plan goals are met.
- Stay current on dietetics research, emerging trends, and best practices.
- Educate culinary staff on nutrition topics related to human nutrition and service.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics or Nutrition accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics.
- Current registration status in Michigan (Registered Dietitian).
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills providing nutrition services appropriate to age‑related needs of residents.
- Knowledge of dietary practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines governing dietary functions in nursing care facilities.
- $70,000 per year base salary
