Purchasing Coordinator

Salary: $55,000–$65,000 per year

Schedule: 9:00 AM–6:00 PM, with a one-hour lunch break

A Japanese-affiliated manufacturing company is seeking a Procurement / Purchasing Coordinator to support its Michigan operations. This role focuses on coordinating purchasing activities, pricing, orders, and deliveries with suppliers and internal teams.

• Coordinate purchasing activities with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Communicate primarily with Japanese suppliers regarding pricing, orders, and delivery schedules.
• Support price negotiations and help resolve supplier-related issues.
• Respond to inquiries and follow up on outstanding purchasing matters.
• Participate in supplier meetings by phone, video, and in person.
• Maintain accurate purchasing information and strong working relationships.
• Visit supplier facilities as needed.

• Business-level Japanese communication skills; JLPT N2 or above preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with Japanese suppliers by email, phone, and video meetings.
• Procurement or purchasing experience preferred; candidates with sales or sales support experience will also be considered.
• Automotive industry experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with automotive components, including seals and fasteners, is a plus.
• Strong communication, negotiation, organizational, and coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
