Job Title: Production Specialist
Location: Farmington, MI
Compensation: $20/hour
Schedule: 1st Shift – Monday to Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM (with possible 12-hour shifts or overtime as business requires)
OverviewWe’re looking for a hands‑on Production Specialist to join our clean‑room automotive operation. In this role, you’ll assemble components to exacting standards, keep production lines running smoothly, and help drive continuous improvements in quality, safety, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Join daily kickoff meetings to align on production goals and safety updates.
- Build and inspect parts using established work instructions, ensuring every product meets safety, quality, and performance requirements.
- Actively promote a safe workplace: wear PPE, identify hazards, and participate in safety initiatives.
- Conduct quality inspections and respond to quality alerts as needed.
- Take part in improvement projects using Lean and problem‑solving techniques.
- Adhere to company policies and support a clean, organized workspace through 5S standards.
- Adjust processes to maintain quality and output within cycle time.
- Report concerns promptly to your team lead or supervisor.
- Keep equipment in top condition through routine checks, basic maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Assist with tool changes, line changeovers, and repairs on machinery or equipment.
- Rotate between workstations when necessary to provide coverage or broaden skills.
- Complete any other duties assigned to support production goals.
- Associate degree in manufacturing technology, automation, or a related discipline (preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
- Comfortable working with automated systems, including HMIs, PLCs, and robotic equipment.
- Knowledge of core manufacturing processes such as press/force, torque, soldering, and basic machine shop work.
- Able to read mechanical and electrical drawings and use precision tools like calipers and micrometers.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Stand, walk, bend, squat, climb, twist, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.
- Lift up to 30 lbs independently (50 lbs with assistance).
- Wear appropriate safety gear (e.g., gloves, goggles) when handling tools or equipment.
- On‑site role in a clean‑room production environment.
