Rector; PT

Church of the Holy Cross is seeking a part-time (3/4-time) Rector to serve a radically hospitable, progressive Episcopal congregation in Novi, Michigan. Our next priest will be a spiritually grounded, relationally gifted leader who can preach compelling, life-applicable sermons; provide compassionate pastoral care; and build genuine community — both within the congregation and in the broader Novi area.

We are looking for someone who leads collaboratively, empowering lay leaders and staff rather than directing from the top. The congregation values compassion, humor, authenticity, and a non-hierarchical approach. Our new Rector will bring energy and creativity to rebuilding youth and family programming, strengthening our external visibility, and moving the congregation toward long-term financial sustainability.

Key gifts and skills we are seeking include: strong preaching and communication; relational depth and the ability to know people by name; pastoral care that walks alongside rather than leads from a distance; collaborative and delegating leadership; flexibility and openness to innovation; and spiritual depth grounded in Scripture and Episcopal tradition.
