Specialist Teaching Assistant – ASD, SLD & PMLD (Secondary)

We are looking for dedicated Specialist Teaching Assistants to join the school's multidisciplinary team. You will provide high‑quality support for pupils with complex learning, communication, sensory, and physical needs, helping them access learning, develop independence, and achieve their EHCP outcomes.

• Support pupils with ASD, SLD, and PMLD in the classroom and other learning environments
• Implement personalised learning and communication strategies, including AAC, Makaton, PECS, and sensory approaches
• Assist with personal care, mobility, and medical needs
• Support engagement, behaviour, and emotional regulation
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals
• Contribute to progress monitoring and EHCP targets

• Experience supporting pupils with complex needs, ASD, SLD, or PMLD
• Patience, empathy, and a calm, consistent approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Willingness to undertake training in specialist SEND approaches
• Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing

You must have a clear Enhanced DBS certificate to be considered for this role. If you do not have one Supply Star Recruitment can support you in obtaining one.
