Teaching Assistant – Level 1

Fixed term contract until August 2027. 31.25 hours per week, Term Time only (+5 training days). Actual Salary £18,214. Required from September 2026.

Location

All Saints CE Primary School, Knebley Crescent, Nuneaton. This is a caring and inclusive single form entry primary school serving a diverse community.

Role Overview

We are looking to appoint a Level 1 Teaching Assistant to work with child/children who have Education Health Care Plans. The position will be on a fixed‑term contract initially for 12 months and will be linked to ECHP funding being available.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Class Teacher and SENCo with activities and strategies for children with Education Health Care Plans.
  • Assist with teaching, learning and development within timetabled curriculum over sustained sessions.
  • Work 8:30 am to 3:30 pm Monday to Friday, with a 45 min lunch break.
  • Attend meetings and training; additional hours may be claimed where required.
  • Maintain safeguarding and welfare practices; post medical clearance and enhanced DBS under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
Qualifications
  • Qualifications (GCSE/GCE or equivalent) in Mathematics and English Language.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Experience working with children with additional needs.
  • Reliable and understanding practitioner, dedicated role model for pupils.
