Do you want to make a difference? Work with young people withhiddentalent? CHILL'D is an expanding alternative provision based in 3 centres. 2 in Camp Hill and 1 just outside of Nuneaton.
We are looking for 2more
Mentors to work 1-1 with young people who need unconditional positive regard and support to reach their potential.
Generally let down by our rigid education system they respond well toanurturingand graduated approach. As we increase in popularity and size we need more staff. You may have worked as a Teaching Assistant (or equivalent name) in a mainstream or special school; as a youth worker; in social care or as a parent; we are open to all applications.
A session with a young person is 3 hours; door to door for them! We prefer drivers but it is not essential. You may work with them at Our Cabin near Hoar Park; cooking,learningor chilling.
Alternatively,we have amulti-usespace at Unit 5 on Pool Road"The Place"and a designated mechanics basenext doorat Unit
6. Sessions also use the community-particularly for life skills. Our aim is to give young people the skills and qualifications they need for employment; this includes Functional Skills and AQAunitawards.
Our young people are currently
13 to 20; we are registered for ages5to25.
These posts are offered at 42 weeks (school terms + 3 weeks, flexible holiday) a year withan ACTUAL salary of Mentor level 1 £ 22,336 to Mentor level 3 £ 26,413. Promoted posts with leadership skillsare envisage din the near futureon our scales of Mentor level 4 £ 28,586 to Mentor level 6 £ 33,519.(Theequivalentfull time annual salariesareMentor1 £ 27,654 to Mentor 6 £ 41,500.)
Salaries are decided by the directors based on skills and experience.
Weare open to part-time working, inhalf day sessions. Visits — welcome- please contact our specialist lead mentor, Matthew Pike, on to arrange a convenient time.
We have ourofficialopeningof "The Place" on Sunday 4thOctober from 12 to 4; you would be very welcome to attend.
Closing date for applications is 0900 on Monday 5thOctober. Shortlisting will take place that day and we plan to interview on Wednesday 7thOctober.
