ENGINEERING APPRENTICE

Full time – 4 years

A 4-year academic and on-the-job apprenticeship to achieve the Food and Drink (Multi-skilled) Engineering Maintenance Apprenticeship Level 3.

Included in the 4 years is off‑the‑job engineering training at Midlands Group Training Service (MGTS) in Coventry: 20 weeks in year 1, 14 weeks in year 2, and 6 weeks in year 3; the fourth year consolidates learning and prepares for the End Point Assessment.

• OAL Level 3 Maintenance Engineering (Electrical and Mechanical)
• BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
• Award in Food Safety level 3 and Principles of HACCP based Food Safety level 2
• Access to the latest technology in a purpose‑built training facility equipped with state‑of‑the‑art machinery, dairy technology and software control systems
• Potential to study to a higher level e.g. HNC or Degree on successful completion

• At least three GCSEs including Mathematics at Grade B/level 6 and above, and English Language Grade C/level 5 and above
• A‑level Maths or A‑level Science would be highly desirable
• A keen interest in developing a career within Engineering and the food industry
• The determination to commit to a four‑year period of study and hard work

• A starting salary of £24,600 per annum (or we will match the current base salary of a current employee)
• No tuition fees or student loans to pay back after graduation
• A laptop during the apprenticeship
• Food allowance when at college
• An on‑site mentor and support from former apprentices who have graduated
• Integrated technical study and work‑based learning
• On completion, qualify for membership to the Institute of Technical Engineers
• Starts 1st August at our Nuneaton plant and Monday 7th September, 9am at the college in Coventry
