Reporting to: Maintenance Manager
Job Grade: P2
Hours: Average 42.87 hours per week – 4 on 4 off (rotating every 4 weeks between days and nights) – 06:00‑18:15 and 18:00‑06:15.
- Deliver fast, effective electrical/mechanical fault finding by investigating root cause and implementing preventative solutions.
- Ensure all corrective maintenance actions are carried out constructively and accurately.
- Use appropriate SSWs and PTWs and observe relevant legislation.
- Ensure plant operates efficiently and safely through proactive planned maintenance that meets departmental KPIs.
- Practice continuous improvement, innovation, and pro‑activeness, offering possible solutions to problems wherever possible.
- Effective liaison with operation team leaders and other members of the management team.
- Assist in training and development of other technical personnel and enhance personal skills through specific training programmes.
- Comply with company policy on accident and near‑miss follow up reporting.
- Monitor equipment performance, report/rectify faults, and run breakdowns, using electronic planned maintenance/recording systems.
- Assist with daily plant operations.
- Communicate breakdowns and repairs done verbally and via shift reporting.
- Implement improvement initiatives for quality, productivity and waste reduction for all aspects of production and the plant itself.
- NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
- NVQ Level 3 qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (desirable).
- Previous experience working as an engineer or technician, multi‑skilled in both electrical and mechanical disciplines.
- Working knowledge of 5S Principles.
- Ability to find faults on electrical/pneumatic systems.
- Self‑starter who balances right culture, working closely with production operatives/team leaders to create trust and confidence.
- Exposure to a roof‑tile manufacturing environment (desirable).
