Double day shifts, 37 hours per week
Salary: £29,250 to £31,500 per annum
Job Type: Permanent
Purpose
We are looking for an experienced Prepper / Polisher to join a busy Paint Shop environment. The successful candidate will ideally have experience within an aerospace, automotive or manufacturing environment, with experience working with carbon fibre parts being advantageous.
Responsibilities
* Prepare various substrates ready for primer.
* Prepare primer ready for topcoat.
* Carry out masking and component preparation prior to painting.
* Prepare and mount components prior to painting.
* Use filler to address pinholes, voids and shapes.
* Polish gloss finish components to a high standard.
* Produce high-quality parts in line with customer requirements.
* Follow work instructions and quality standards.
* Ensure hazardous and non-hazardous waste is disposed of correctly.
* Keep the work area clean and tidy.
* Wear the required PPE and follow all company health and safety procedures.
Skills and Experience
* Previous experience in a preparation, polishing, paint shop, body shop or similar manufacturing environment.
* Experience preparing components for painting.
* Experience preparing carbon fibre parts would be advantageous.
* Good hand skills and a strong eye for detail.
* Automotive model development or body shop / paint shop experience would be desirable.
* Takes pride in producing high-quality work.
* Reliable and punctual with a positive approach to teamwork.
* Good communication skills and a professional attitude
