Day shift - rotating shift pattern

Applicants must hold current EN4179/NAS
410 Level 2 certification in Liquid Penetrant Testing.
The shift pattern consists of: 2 on/4 off, 3 on/2 off, 2 on/5 off, 2 on/3 off, 2 on/2 off and 3 on/4 off.
This provides an attractive work-life balance, with regular blocks of between two and five consecutive days off.
The Opportunity
We are recruiting for an established aerospace engineering business with a strong reputation for manufacturing high-precision components and delivering quality-critical solutions.

The Role
As an NDT Technician, you will carry out Liquid Penetrant Testing on precision-manufactured aerospace components in accordance with approved procedures, industry standards and customer requirements.
You will set up and standardise equipment, process components, interpret inspection results and make consistent acceptance or rejection decisions within a controlled aerospace inspection environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Carry out Liquid Penetrant Testing in accordance with EN4179/NAS
410 requirements
Set up and standardise Liquid Penetrant Testing equipment
Process aerospace components to approved procedures and specifications
Interpret and evaluate inspection results
Make accurate acceptance or rejection decisions
Document inspection and process-control results
Complete system performance checks to applicable processing standards
Work to relevant aerospace codes, standards and contractual requirements
Develop work instructions and inspection techniques from approved general procedures where required
Provide guidance and technical support to Level 1 personnel and trainees
Escalate quality, inspection and process concerns appropriately
Support NDT audits, process reviews and customer approval activities
Work closely with manufacturing and quality teams to maintain product conformity
Candidate Requirements
Current EN4179/NAS
410 Level 2 certification in Liquid Penetrant Testing
Proven practical experience carrying out Liquid Penetrant Testing
Strong understanding of the capabilities and limitations of the testing method
Experience setting up and standardising NDT equipment
Ability to interpret and evaluate inspection results accurately
Understanding of acceptance and rejection criteria
Knowledge of NDT process controls and system performance checks
Ability to work from approved procedures and technical documentation
Accurate inspection and process-recording skills
Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
Ability to work independently and as part of a wider quality team
Good written and verbal communication skills
Strong commitment to quality, safety and regulatory compliance

Desirable Experience
Inspecting precision-machined aerospace components
Interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications
Working to aerospace customer-specific NDT requirements
Supporting NDT audits, process reviews or customer approvals
Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing and inspection processes
